What does purple star mean on eBay?

Turquoise star: 100 feedback points. Purple star: 500 feedback points. Red star: 1,000 feedback points. Green star: 5,000 feedback points. Yellow shooting star: 10,000 feedback points.

Can eBay sellers see star ratings?

Can sellers in fact really figure out or see who leaves star ratings?” Absolutely. We have always been able to. “If this is true, I will no longer leave star ratings.”

What Star colors mean?

The color of a star is linked to its surface temperature. The hotter the star, the shorter the wavelength of light it will emit. The hottest ones are blue or blue-white, which are shorter wavelengths of light. Cooler ones are red or red-brown, which are longer wavelengths.

What color stars are the oldest?

What Colour stars are there?

The stars show a multitude of colors, including red, orange, yellow, white, and blue. As we have seen, stars are not all the same color because they do not all have identical temperatures.

Are stars yellow or white?

As a matter of fact, all stars are not yellow. They appear “yellow-white” to a human eye because of the very dark-black background of the sky. And also because in the obscurity, the human eye does not use the same detectors to see than in the day light.

What color are stars in the galaxy?

Stars exist in a range of colors: red, orange, yellow, green, white and blue with red being the coolest and blue being the hottest. A star’s color indicates it’s temperature, composition and relative distance from earth.

What are the 7 spectral classes of stars?

Stars are classified by their spectra (the elements that they absorb) and their temperature. There are seven main types of stars. In order of decreasing temperature, O, B, A, F, G, K, and M.

What are the 3 types of spectra?

There are three general types of spectra: continuous, emission, and absorption.

What is our sun’s full spectral classification?

The full classification for our Sun is G2 V. The G2 spectral type means it is yellow-white in color and the luminosity class V means it a hydrogen-burning, main-sequence star.

What are the 3 main types of stars?

The Different Types of Stars

  • Protostar. A protostar is what comes before a star has formed – a collection of gas that collapsed from a huge molecular cloud.
  • T Tauri Stars.
  • Main Sequence Stars.
  • Red Giant Stars.
  • White Dwarf Stars.
  • Red Dwarf Stars.
  • Neutron Stars.
  • Supergiant Stars.

Why do stars twinkle at night?

The movement of air (sometimes called turbulence) in the Earth’s atmosphere causes the starlight to get slightly bent as it travels from the distant star through the atmosphere to us on the ground. Stars closer to the horizon appear to twinkle more than others.

Why do stars twinkle red and blue?

This is because of scintillation (“Twinkling”) as the light passes through the atmosphere of the Earth. As the air moves in and out, the starlight is refracted, often different colors in different directions. Because of this “chromatic abberation,” stars can appear to change colors when they are twinkling strongly.

What is that red star in the sky?

How can you tell a great conjunction 2020?

How to see it. To view the astronomical event, skywatchers should point their gaze toward an unobstructed part of the southwestern sky, about an hour after sunset since the planets will set below the horizon quickly. Leading up to the Dec. 21 conjunction, Saturn will appear slightly above and to the left of Jupiter.

How to get 100 positive feedback in less than a week

The post will share my experience on how to get 100 positive feedback in less than a week on eBay.  Please share your experience and how you find the post on the comments section below the post.

Back in my university days long long ago, 20th of September 2007 to be more precise, I have decided to create an eBay account to buy some products that I needed. After a while I had some unused items that I wanted to get rid off them and decided to sell them on eBay without any luck. The reason wasn’t just the price but feedback. I didn’t have any feedback at all so I couldn’t convince any buyer to purchase from me.

Early tip

If you plan to interact on eBay, feedback is very important. Feedback translates to trust and drives the machine that is eBay. If you plan to buy or sell on eBay, you will want to pay special attention to your feedback.

10 years later I decided to try another one time from zero but before selling anything I wanted to get my feedback absolutely right. So this is how I achieve 100 feedback in less than a week…

What does the star next to a Feedback score mean?

After spending much time researching eBay regarding their feedback system it was clear to me that I needed to get to the 3rd level – Turquoise star

As you can see from eBay website the feedback stars are located to the right of a member’s username. Stars are awarded based on a member’s Feedback score.

In most cases, members receive:

  • +1 point for each positive rating
  • 0 points for each neutral rating
  • -1 point for each negative rating

The more points you get, the higher the “star” level will go.

Here’s what the different stars mean:

How to get 100 positive feedback in less than a week

It is not impossible here is how I did it

Step 1

Always purchase from a seller that has 98-100 % feedback.

Step 2

Search results on eBay it crucial so you need to filter your eBay search results. Try to search for a wide range of products with generic words and then filter accordingly.

For example –

Search for white

and filter like this

From $0.01 to $0.50

Delivery options

Free International shipping

The results should be like this here

Check out the filter screenshot below to get the filter correct

Step 3

After you win an auction is very important to make the payment fast. Send your payment fast.

Step 4

Now this is the most important part. Keep in touch through e-mail with the seller.
DO NOT LEAVE FEEDBACK until they have left you positive feedback

Step 5

Contact the seller for positive feedback. Even some sellers have been ignoring my messages i have been chasing them every day until the give me positive feedback. At the end of ther day both the seller and the buyer will be benefited from feedback.

Step 6

Work with the seller to resolve any problems in a courteous manner.
After a successful purchase go through the same routine from step 1

🙃 simple

Things to avoid

Avoid buy it now as it would be more expensive, auction all the way as you save a lot of money. My initial search was so restrictive that i could’t find enough products and waited for the bids to end. It is better to check the auctions that are ending soonest. This will save you a lot of time and money as you can win bids for $0.05 with free delivery, yeap it it actually possible.

The most popular search that gave me the opportunity to wait until the last 10s to bid for the item and win the auctions were: silver, white, cable, screen, protector, free, new…

Happy bidding, thanks for reading my post hopefully the post helped you to gain more eBay feedback!

I made it happen so you CAN do it…

My current feedback on ebay is -> (103★)

You might have noticed the colorful stars which pop up on product pages across eBay. These are eBay stars and they appear in your ‘Seller Information’.

If you’ve just joined eBay, it may seem like your account is the only one without a star. But don’t worry, we’re here to explain how you can get an eBay star rating of your own.

eBay stars: An introduction

Sometimes they’re yellow, sometimes they’re red and sometimes they even have little speed lines for added effect. These eBay stars always appear to the right of a seller’s account name, just above their positive feedback percentage.

Each star has a number beside it and if you hover over it, you’ll be told that this number represents the seller’s feedback score.

If you’re unfamiliar with eBay’s rating system, you might think 90 is a high score. It’s out of 100, right? Wrong. You’ll see eBay star ratings of 2,998 and 759,000 and even higher!

Though their meaning might not be immediately evident, these stars are eBay’s way of telling shoppers about each seller’s reputation.

Many people who frequently browse eBay understand what the different colored stars and numbers mean, so they are important if you want to prove your eBay customer service credentials!

eBay star rating

The eBay star rating system explained

An eBay star rating and feedback score indicate both a seller’s experience and their level of customer service. It represents how high your sales are and how much positive feedback you have received.

Every time a seller earns feedback, they can gain or lose points.

  • You earn one point for each positive rating
  • You lose one point for every negative rating
  • A neutral rating isn’t worth any points

The feedback score usually shows how many points a seller has received based on this system.

Positive ratings – negative ratings = Feedback score

The eBay star rating chart

If you’re a seller, you may be wondering how to get a star of your own.

Well, the color of each eBay star is designed to correlate with the feedback score of a seller. As you’ll see in the eBay star list below, once you start receiving customer feedback, you’ll need 10 points to be awarded your first star.

  • Yellow star: 10 feedback points
  • Blue star: 50 feedback points
  • Turquoise star: 100 feedback points
  • Purple star: 500 feedback points
  • Red star: 1,000 feedback points
  • Green star: 5,000 feedback points
  • Yellow shooting star: 10,000 feedback points
  • Turquoise shooting star: 25,000 feedback points
  • Purple shooting star: 50,000 feedback points
  • Red shooting star: 100,000 feedback points
  • Green shooting star: 500,000 feedback points
  • Silver shooting star: 1,000,000 feedback points

If you’re curious about your current feedback score, you can see where you’re at by looking at the top of your seller feedback profile. If you have a star, it will appear here too.

You’ll notice that when you receive 10,000 points, your star turns to yellow once again. But this time it will have speed lines sticking out, meaning you’ll have reached shooting star status.

eBay Silver Shooting Star

So how important is your eBay star rating?

Although not everyone is privy to what eBay feedback stars mean, it is still a good idea to get your score as high as possible.

eBay feedback stars and your sales

Those who do understand eBay stars will be impressed with a shooting star. But people who are unaware of the system can still click on your star and be brought to a breakdown of recent ratings. So feedback on eBay is essential to instilling trust in potential customers.

Small volume sellers may wonder how they can compete with big brands here. But eBay feedback stars and scores aren’t the be-all and end-all. Most customers also look at the positive feedback percentage. If you have 100% here, your feedback score mightn’t influence buyers.

eBay Feedback Score

Smaller sellers can be competitive by offering a great service. So, for example, eBay users looking for a pair of sneakers might come across two sellers:

  • peach_sport_uk, which has 100% positive feedback and a feedback score of 115,605
  • adidas_official, which has 97.1% positive feedback and a feedback score of 226,725

While both metrics are impressive, some users may be inclined to go with Peach Sport which has only received one negative rating in the past year. Other buyers will be impressed with Adidas’ feedback score.

eBay feedback stars and your rankings

When pulling together listings for its results page, eBay’s search algorithm pushes some sellers to the top and others into obscurity. The precise formula for success isn’t clear, but we know that eBay rewards sellers for good performance. So your feedback score will influence your rankings.

How to get stars on eBay

Now that you know how a healthy eBay star rating can help your eCommerce business, let’s take a look at how you can get one. As it’s based entirely on your feedback score, you need to take steps to ensure you receive positive ratings.

1. Make sure your product listings are accurate

A badly written description – or even an outright inaccurate one – will attract negative feedback. If customers don’t get what they’re expecting, they won’t be happy. They may be inclined to warn other shoppers too. Optimize your eBay listings by including as much detail about your products as possible. Feature model numbers, measurements and other precise specifications.

2. Use great images

A picture is worth a thousand words. So once you’ve finished your detailed description, add some high-quality photos to your listings. Check out eBay’s photo tips for guidance.

3. Provide top-class customer service

Great customer service is about speedy responses and a polite attitude. Even when you’re dealing with unhappy customers, great service can prevent negative reviews. In fact, eBay encourages customers to contact sellers before giving them a bad rating, so consider this an opportunity to turn a bad experience into a good one.

4. Respond to negative feedback

eBay also allows users to update their feedback. So if you receive negative ratings, you should respond.

You may be able to make the situation better or even encourage them to remove negative feedback. If not, an apology and clear explanation will comfort potential customers that come across this rating.

5. Personalize your customer messages

The best customer support tools for eCommerce offer personalization options, so give your customers an intimate experience and speak to them on their level.

6. Proactively request feedback

The chances are most of your eBay customers are having a great experience, but aren’t providing feedback. So how do you increase eBay feedback and ratings? Just ask. There are handy tools to automate this process, so there’s no excuse not to.

Request feedback

eBay silver shooting star sellers

The world’s top eBay accounts feature many silver shooting star sellers. With a feedback score of over six million, 2020’s top seller World of Books has one. If you look at its stats for the past 12 months alone, the seller has received an astounding 1,685,169 positive ratings.

For many sellers, this is out of reach. But they should shoot for the stars regardless. The more feedback your account receives, the more visibility and customers you’ll gain.

Ebay purple star

If you’ve ever bought or sold anything on eBay, you’ve surely noticed those eBay star colors located in some sellers’ info. But what do they mean? And, if you’re an eBay seller, how can you get one of your own?

Keep reading to learn exactly what each eBay star color represents, why they matter and how to improve your star ranking as a seller.

What Do eBay Star Colors Represent?

eBay star colors represent the amount of positive feedback a seller has received. When a buyer leaves a positive review, the seller is awarded 1 point. However, a point is also subtracted for every instance of negative feedback.

Therefore, if you’re a seller who has received 12 positive reviews and 2 negative ones, you would have a feedback score of 10.

Note: Neutral feedback does not affect this score in any way.

Each Star Color: Defined

Star Colors Defined - What eBay Star Colors Mean + How to Improve Yours - Replyco Helpdesk Software for eCommerce

Once you begin selling on eBay, you’ll need to receive at least 10 instances of positive feedback (that aren’t canceled out by any negative reviews) to get your first star. This will come in the form of a yellow star. Then as you begin to earn more and more positive feedback, your star ranking will change.

Please note, the above chart only contains approximations (replicas) of each star color and shape. Shades and exact designs may be different on eBay, and will vary by device.

Here is a list of each eBay star color and how many points sellers need to get them:

Yellow Star: 10 to 49 points

Blue Star: 50 to 99 points

Turquoise Star: 100 to 499 points

Purple Star: 500 to 999 points

Red Star: 1,000 to 4,999 points

Green Star: 5,000 to 9,999 points

Yellow Shooting Star: 10,000 to 24,999 points

Turquoise Shooting Star: 25,000 to 49,999 points

Purple Shooting Star: 50,000 to 99,999 points

Red Shooting Star: 100,000 to 499,999 points

Green Shooting Star: 500,000 to 999,999 points

Silver Shooting Star: 1,000,000 or more points

Why Do eBay Star Colors Matter?

You may ask: do eBay star colors really matter? While it’s true that some shoppers may not be aware of the star ranking system, many are. After all, the information is readily available via a simple Google search as to what each star means.

Think of your eBay star color as a way to build up your seller reputation. These stars enable you to showcase that you have a proven track record of delighting customers. They let shoppers know that you consistently deliver quality products and dependable, trustworthy service.

How the eBay Star Rating System Works

One day, you’re wandering around your favorite online marketplace, and you suddenly start noticing the little eBay stars all over the place. One might be purple with little speed lines in the bottom left . . .

Purple Star on eBay

Turquoise Star on eBay

What do these eBay star colors mean? If you’re a buyer, should you only buy from sellers with certain kinds of stars? If you’re a seller, how do you get a star of your own, and how can you tell how good yours is?

The eBay Star Rating System Explained

The star ratings on eBay show off how much positive feedback a seller has received. Each time you receive positive feedback, you get one point towards your star. You lose a point every time you get a negative rating. Neutral ratings have no effect.

When you get enough points, eBay gives you a star according to this chart:

eBay Stars by Feedback Score

The right column says “Number of ratings,” but it really means, “The number of positive ratings minus the number of negative ratings.”

Let’s say a seller has received feedback 11 times, all of it positive. That gives her 11 points. Since that’s between 10 and 49 points, she gets a yellow star.

But one day, someone gives her negative feedback. This costs her a point and she now has a score of 10. Luckily, she gets to keep her star.

Finally, she gets a neutral rating. This doesn’t cost or give her a point, so she stays at 10.

If that seller gets more negative feedback and sinks below 10 points, she’ll lose her yellow star. But she’ll get promoted to a blue star if her feedback score rises to 50 or higher.

Which eBay Star Colors Are Better?

Shooting Stars

Just in case you couldn't view the screenshot of the chart, here are the star colors ranked from lowest to highest, along with their minimum scores:

  • Yellow: 10
  • Blue: 50
  • Turquoise: 100
  • Purple: 500
  • Red: 1,000
  • Green: 5,000

Once you’ve reached a score of 10,000, your star becomes yellow again—but you get those little speed lines that make it a shooting star.

Red Shooting Star

The shooting star colors are:

  • Yellow: 10,000
  • Turquoise: 25,000
  • Purple: 50,000
  • Red: 100,000
  • Green: 500,000
  • Silver: 1,000,000

What Color Is That Star Supposed to Be?

It seems like eBay is always messing around with their graphics. Sometimes, the stars don’t quite match up to the colors in the chart—for example, the red shooting star in the screenshot above certainly looks orange to me! When this happens, I just look at the little blue number next to the star.

eBay Feedback Score

That seller has a feedback score of 186,659. Therefore, that appears to be eBay’s current idea of a red shooting star.

I’m a Seller. How Do I Get a Better eBay Star?

Your star is based entirely on your feedback score—as are things like your eligibility for PowerSeller status. If you want a cooler star, focus on getting a higher eBay feedback score.

I’m a Buyer. Should I Pay Attention to the Seller’s Star?

Watching the Stars

Sellers with better stars have sold more stuff on eBay and generally gotten positive reviews. When you find a seller with a shooting star, it means they’ve been at this for a long time. You can probably trust them to treat you well and provide efficient support.

However, that’s not always the case. It sometimes becomes a small business versus big business deal: the big guys are usually faster, but the little guys are more likely to take your complaints seriously. So there’s really no reason not to buy from someone who only has a yellow star.

In the end, it’s better to look at the percentage of positive feedback a seller has. It’s safer to buy from someone who has a 98.5% positive rating than someone who has 98%, even—perhaps especially—if the latter has a higher-level star.

eBay stars make nice visual representations of sellers’ accomplishments and experience. Those with better stars will typically be a bit more reliable. But when it comes to deciding from whom to buy, what color star they have shouldn’t make a big difference.
