How should cm be at 8/9dpo?

Hi I've had this a while, got from BC. Hope it helps

Firstly some info on Cervical position and distinguishing the different types of mucusCervical Position Low ~ Your cervix will be easy to reach, your finger wont go right in, usually up to the first knuckle. This means that you are not fertile at this point.Medium ~ Your cervix will be mid way. Your finger will go in deeper, to around your second knuckle. This means you are in the transition to either be fertile, or you are no longer fertile. High ~ Your cervix will be hard to reach, some can't reach it at all. You are very fertile at this point. It is high to allow to get in nice and deep to put his deposit right up to the opening of your cervix. Firm ~ Your cervix will feel like the tip of your nose. It will be smooth, almost like glass and will appear to be smaller. This means that you are not fertile at this point. Medium ~ Your cervix will feel a little spongy. This means you are in the transition to either be fertile, or you are no longer fertile. Soft ~ Your cervix will feel soft like your lips. It will be wrinkly and well textured. It will appear to be larger. You are very fertile at this point. Closed ~ The dimple will be small and tight, your cervix will feel flat around the dimple (like the penis) This means that you are not fertile at this point. Open ~ The dimple will feel bigger, as you feel it, your finger will dip into it. You will feel CM around it easily. You are very fertile at this point.Cervical Mucus Internally Dry ~ It will feel moist inside, but will dry on your finger quickly. It will dry before doing the stretch test. You are not fertile at this point.Sticky ~ It will feel sticky and thick on your finger, might break up or create a 'roll' when rubbed. It will not stretch, but will form pointy peaks. You are not fertile at this point. Creamy ~ It will feel like lotion. It is the transitional stage between fertile and infertile, and so can range between thick and thin i.e. cream to milk. It will not stretch, but form a wavy pattern, very smooth and just giving a clue where it was broken. This means you are in the transition to either be fertile, or you are no longer fertile. Watery ~ It will feel just like water. Your finger will slip in easily. When you rub your finger and thumb, it wont dry quickly, and will massage well. Will not stretch. You are fertile at this point. Egg White ~ It will feel very slippery inside. It will massage very well and will not dry at all. It will stretch well, from just a little to several inches. Can be mistaken for semen. You are very fertile at this point. Externally Dry ~ It will not mark or be found on your underwear. You are not fertile at this point. Sticky ~ It will create a line on your underwear. It will feel sticky and thick, and will crumble when aggitated. It will dry quickly and become hard like cement. You are not fertile at this point. Creamy ~ It will create a shape ranging from a line to a circle on your underwear. Sometimes, a mixture of both, i.e a thicker line, but an out line of a circle from where it is in the transition. It will remain lotion like as it will not dry very quickly. This means you are in the transition to either be fertile, or you are no longer fertile. Watery ~ It will create a damp patch on your underwear in a circular pattern, just as if water would mark it. You are fertile at this point. Egg White ~ It will create a damp, circular pattern on your underwear, and you will possibly find a 'glob' of the classic stretchy EWCM. You are very fertile at this point.

9 DPO: Symptoms at Nine Days Past Ovulation

You&#;re 9 days past ovulation (9 DPO), which happens to be the most likely day for implantation to occur. You may think that means that it&#;s time to take a pregnancy test, but the reality for most women is that this is too early to get a positive.

Can you take a pregnancy test at 9 DPO?

You certainly can, but that doesn&#;t mean you should. You will most likely get a negative result, even if you are truly pregnant. It&#;s simply too early for most women to test positive.

We recommend waiting until 12 DPO to take a pregnancy test. Why? Because there are two things that need to happen before your pregnancy test turns positive:

  1. Implantation needs to occur. According to a study published in the New England Journal of Medicine, implantation occurs between 8 – 10 DPO, with the most common day being 9 DPO.
  2. Levels of the pregnancy hormone hCG needs to increase. It can take up to two days for hCG levels to become detectable by a home pregnancy test, according to a study published in Human Reproduction.

This explains our recommendation to wait until 12 DPO to take a pregnancy test. If 10 DPO is the latest likely day for implantation, and if it takes the full two days for hCG levels to build up to detectable levels, then 12 DPO is the first day that you should get a positive pregnancy test if you are truly pregnant.

Any earlier than that, and your chances of getting a false negative pregnancy test are still high.

What does a negative pregnancy test mean at 9 DPO?

It doesn&#;t mean that you are pregnant or not pregnant—it&#;s simply too early to tell. If you get a negative pregnancy test at 9 DPO, you should wait about three more days before testing again.

Buy Ava Women Banner

By 12 DPO, most pregnant women will get a positive pregnancy test if they are using a sensitive test.

Can you get a positive pregnancy test at 9 DPO?

It&#;s possible, but it&#;s also unlikely. While implantation does typically happen around 9 DPO, it can take up to two days for hCG levels to build up to detectable levels in urine.

Implantation can happen as early as 6 DPO, though this only occurs for fewer than % of women. If implantation occurs between 6 – 8 DPO, it can sometimes be possible to get a positive pregnancy test at 9 DPO.

However, if you hear a lot of stories from friends (or strangers on the internet) about getting early positive pregnancy tests, the most likely explanation is that they have miscalculated their date of ovulation. For many of these women, ovulation may have occurred earlier than they realized.

Can you get a negative pregnancy test at 9 DPO and still be pregnant?

It&#;s actually common to get a negative pregnancy test at 9 DPO and go on to get a positive test a few days later. In an analysis of over 93, menstrual cycles, the fertility tracking app Fertility Friend found that fewer than 10% of pregnancy charts showed a positive at 9 DPO.

Can you have pregnancy symptoms at 9 DPO?

It&#;s possible, but highly unlikely. Most pregnant women do not experience any symptoms of pregnancy until 5 – 6 weeks of gestation, or 1 – 2 weeks after a missed period. At 9 DPO, your period probably isn&#;t due for another 3 – 5 more days.

At 9 DPO, there is typically no difference in symptoms between a pregnant woman and a non-pregnant woman. That&#;s because the hormone progesterone is high in both of these situations. Progesterone is responsible for both early pregnancy symptoms and premenstrual symptoms. At 9 DPO, it is impossible to distinguish one from the other.

High progesterone levels can contribute to symptoms such as:

All of these symptoms can occur whether you are pregnant or not. If you aren&#;t pregnant, progesterone levels decline when your period arrives, and symptoms should alleviate within a few days. If you are pregnant, progesterone levels continue to climb and symptoms may persist (or come and go) throughout your first trimester.

9 DPO - Pregnancy Symptoms to Expect Nine Days Post Ovulation

When you are trying to conceive, it is very normal to wish to find out if you are pregnant as early as possible. Many expecting parents would want to confirm it quickly even though they will probably keep it a secret from the world for a few more weeks.  Implantation of the fertilised egg is most likely to occur around 9 DPO (9 days post ovulation), and many people think that the 9 DPO is the right time to take a pregnancy test. Read on to find out more about what to expect after your 9 DPO and why a negative 9 DPO result should not worry you.

Is It the Right Time to Take a Pregnancy Test at 9 DPO?

9 days past ovulation is still very early, but, some people begin experiencing pregnancy symptoms at that time. However, this will be different for every pregnancy and every person. At times, even if you are pregnant, you may not experience any of the pregnancy symptoms at 9 DPO.

If you have conceived, then by 9 DPO, there will be a lot happening inside your body. A tiny embryo would have developed and will be quickly growing inside, but that does not mean you will get a positive at 9 DPO. At 9 DPO, you are still around a week early from your first missed period and most health care providers would suggest you take the pregnancy test after at least the first day of the missed period. Though there are many pregnancy tests out there claiming that they can predict pregnancy even before that, these tests are not very accurate.

In some cases, by 9 DPO, implantation may be complete and the cells that are going to form the placenta could begin releasing the pregnancy hormone (also known as the human chorionic gonadotropin). In such cases, a positive result would be shown by an early pregnancy test. A positive result at 9 DPO could also indicate an ectopic pregnancy.

Since 9 DPO is a really early stage, the pregnancy test could also show a negative result, even when you are pregnant. In such cases, it is best to wait for a few more days to take a pregnancy test until the first day of your missed period for more accurate results. This is why many doctors suggest waiting for a few more days to get the accurate result, even though it is possible to get a 9 DPO BFP (big fat positive) result in your pregnancy test.

Pregnancy Symptoms at 9 DPO

Pregnancy tests at 9 DPO are usually not very accurate, but some people may still experience a few symptoms at this stage. Since these are very mild, many women do not notice these or even mistake these for premenstrual symptoms. However, a few symptoms you could look out for are:

1. Exhaustion or Fatigue

Unexplained fatigue or exhaustion is one of the most common symptoms of early pregnancy. This is because when the fertilised egg implants into the uterine lining, in order to maintain a healthy pregnancy, the body will begin creating extra progesterone. This process usually takes place between 6 and 10 DPO, and fatigue is one of the most common side effects of progesterone.

2. Gas

Even during the first few days, pregnant women can experience many gastrointestinal symptoms. As early as 9 DPO, pregnancy hormones can cause increased gas by slowing down the process of digestion. Many also experience pregnancy constipation, but since an upcoming period can also cause constipation, this may go unnoticed.

3. Bloating

Since digestion is slowed down by the hormones and food takes a long time to go through the stomach and intestines, you may experience bloating.

4. Cramps

Cramps are another common symptom of pregnancy and can be experienced as early as 9 DPO. These are usually caused by implantation – when the fertilised egg tries to burrow itself into the uterus – and the cramps are usually very mild. Implantation may also cause implantation bleeding or spotting.

Pregnancy Symptoms at 9 DPO

5. Headache

During the first trimester, hormonal fluctuations are very common and these can cause migraines and headaches. However, these are symptoms that are easily confused with the symptoms of an upcoming period.

6. Tender Breasts

Even at 9 DPO, your hormones will be working too hard, causing swelling or breast tenderness. In some cases, areolas can become larger and darker.

7. Back Ache

At 9 DPO, your body will begin making room for the baby, even though it is early in the pregnancy. Your uterus will begin preparing to become large for the growing baby. This can cause mild back pain, along with the implantation cramps. However, many women may not notice this since both 9 DPO and period cramps may seem the same.

8. Nausea

During the first trimester, one of the most common symptoms is morning sickness. However, it is perfectly normal to not experience this symptom at 9 DPO, and it does not mean that you are not pregnant.

However, note that a lot of these symptoms can occur even if you are not pregnant. Usually, at 9 DPO, the symptoms experienced by a pregnant woman and a non-pregnant woman are almost the same. This is because, in both situations, progesterone would be high, and this hormone is responsible for both premenstrual and early pregnancy symptoms. If that is the case, these symptoms will alleviate within a few days as the progesterone levels decline when your period dates get closer. If you are pregnant, the progesterone levels will continue to increase and these symptoms will come and go during the first trimester.

Are 9 DPO Pregnancy Tests Reliable?

9 DPO tests are not always reliable. Getting a negative result at your 9 DPO pregnancy test does not always mean you are not pregnant. It could be because the amount of pregnancy hormone produced by the placenta is not enough to be detected by the pregnancy test. A fertility tracking app, in an analysis of over menstrual cycles, found that less than 10 per cent of pregnancy charts show a positive in pregnancy tests taken at 9 DPO. However, this does not mean that the pregnancy test you take days later will surely show positive. Therefore, it is best to wait a few more days, until the first period is missed, and then take a pregnancy test.

Even though you do not know you are pregnant at 9 DPO, there will still be a lot happening inside your body. Most 9 DPO symptoms are easily confused with premenstrual symptoms since these are very mild. Therefore, to get a reliable result, it is best to wait for a few more days.

Though you can take a pregnancy test at 9 DPO, it is best to wait until 12 DPO for more accurate results. At 9 DPO, you are more likely to get a negative result, since it is simply too early for most women to test positive.

PREGNANT AFTER MISCARRIAGE - Emotional Live Pregnancy Test @ 9 DPO - Lauren Self

When you are trying to conceive, it can be difficult to make it through the infamous two-week waiting period before taking a pregnancy test.  While pregnancy symptoms at 9 DPO are usually mild and many women don’t even notice them, it is possible to be experiencing symptoms and wondering if they are early signs of pregnancy.

Every woman experiences pregnancy and menstruation differently, but at 9 DPO your body and hormones will shift either due to an upcoming menstrual cycle or an early pregnancy.  At 9 DPO you might expect physical signs and symptoms and this post will explore what those symptoms mean and when to test for pregnancy (check out our overview of the full DPO signs & symptoms here).

What is happening to your body at 9 DPO?

At 9 DPO you are in the luteal phase of your cycle and one of two things can happen:

  • Progesterone is being released to signal the uterine lining to become an egg-friendly environment, but fertilization doesn’t always take place.  If the egg successfully embeds itself in the uterine lining, this is known as implantation and production of the hormone hCG is released, along with rising progesterone levels to protect the pregnancy.  The hormone hCG is measured by most home pregnancy tests, and production can take several days after implantation to get up to levels detectable by those tests.
  • If fertilization of the egg hasn’t taken place, the corpus luteum that synthesises progesterone shrinks and hormone levels drop.  This drop in hormones signals that the uterine lining is no longer needed, and triggers menstruation.

Conception involves a series of complicated steps biologically, but once implantation has occurred the pregnancy may be detected.  At 9 DPO, your body may still be in the process of implantation.  In other words, the fertilized egg may still be on its journey to attach to the wall of the uterus.  If this step hasn’t occurred yet, no pregnancy test in the world will show a positive result because you simply do not have the right hormones in your system.

What are the pregnancy symptoms at 9 days past ovulation?

Now that we know what is happening in the body during this phase of your cycle, we can look at the symptoms and whether they might indicate pregnancy.  As hormones change, many women begin to experience common symptoms of early pregnancy such as fatigue, nausea, cramping, and breast changes.

Any changes you see at this stage are closely related to what you might see before you get your period since progesterone is still high at 9 DPO and the likely culprit of many symptoms.  Progesterone is responsible for regulating your menstrual cycle, but also an important hormone in getting your body ready for pregnancy.

Once implantation has occurred, production of progesterone partly switches to the forming placenta and it’s primary job is to support your body in maintaining a pregnancy.  Higher progesterone levels are behind PMS symptoms such as cramps, fatigue, sore, breasts, bloating, and backache.  Many of the symptoms of early pregnancy and PMS are similar since PMS usually occurs when progesterone peaks.

Unusual fatigue

Unusual fatigue is one of the most common symptoms of early pregnancy.  Making a baby takes a lot of energy, and your body is working hard to build the systems and supports needed for a successful pregnancy.  Rising hormone levels and the extra energy needed to support a fetus means that even if you are getting enough sleep, you may still feel exhausted.

Changes in blood vessels carrying oxygen to the brain, as well as the energy needed to build the placenta all contribute to these feelings of fatigue.  Although fatigue around the time of ovulation may be normal, it’s likely to be more exaggerated as a 9 DPO pregnancy symptom.  Unusual levels of sleepiness and exhaustion may be noticed as early as 1 week after conception.

Despite being called morning sickness, nausea can happen at any time of the day and is a well-known sign of early pregnancy.  As many as 80% of women experience this uncomfortable but common symptom.  It can begin any time during your first trimester, but if you tracked your ovulation to get pregnant, you might notice it earlier.

The exact cause of morning sickness isn’t known but hormonal changes are suspected.   Pregnancy-related nausea is a common 9 DPO symptom for many women and the American Pregnancy Association reports that 4 out of 5 women will experience pregnancy-related nausea before a missed period.

9 DPO cramping can feel a lot like PMS or period cramps and is quite normal during early pregnancy.  Some women can even experience cramping at the time of implantation while others may feel nothing at all.

9 DPO symptoms like cramping can be confusing since it can be challenging to tell the difference between 9 DPO pregnancy symptoms and your period.  Because symptoms at 9 DPO are heavily influenced by progesterone, you may notice changes in your digestion as production ramps up.  Progesterone is responsible for relaxing smooth muscles, like the walls of your uterus, but it can have knock-on effects.

As smooth muscles throughout the body are relaxed, like those in your digestive tract, digestion can slow down, increasing the risk of constipation and cramping.  This is also a time of rapid growth for your womb, which may bring on uncomfortable growing pains or cramps.  For some, they may be nothing more than a mild pressure or quick sharp pain, while for others they can be excruciating.

Changes in breasts

With the rising hormone levels, increased blood flow, and fluid retention of early pregnancy you may notice changes in your breasts.  As breast tissue reacts to these changes, you may begin to feel heavy, tender, or swollen in the area.  Your nipples may also change in size, color, and sensitivity.

Your breasts are adapting as they prepare your body to feed a baby and will continue to change over the course of your pregnancy.  Your breasts will continue to grow in size and you may notice the veins on your breast become larger, bluer, and more visible.  You may also feel a general ache, or tenderness in the area, especially in the first trimester, but symptoms often dissipate as your body adjusts to the influx of hormones.

Although often concerning for women, a small amount of slight bleeding or spotting is completely normal in early pregnancy.  As many as 30% of women experience this, with the blood usually lighter in color than a normal menstrual bleed.

This can occur at the time of implantation, known as implantation bleeding, as the fertilized egg burrows its way into the uterine lining but it is a common enough symptom to be considered normal.  Although for some women this may indicate a problem, like an ectopic pregnancy or early miscarriage, 9 DPO spotting is quite normal but you should see your doctor if you are concerned.

What if you don’t have any symptoms at 9 days past ovulation?

Because many early pregnancy symptoms are mild, or can be mistaken for premenstrual symptoms, having no symptoms at 9 DPO is not a cause for concern or even abnormal.  In fact, most pregnant women don’t even begin to experience pregnancy symptoms until weeks after a missed period.

A pregnancy test at 9 DPO could very well test negative before getting a positive test a few days later.  One analysis even found that fewer than 10% of pregnancy charts analyzed showed a positive test at 9 DPO.  No symptoms at 9 days post ovulation doesn’t necessarily mean you aren’t pregnant, you simply need to wait longer before testing.  Every woman experiences pregnancy differently and even though some symptoms are common, you may experience none at all.

When should you test?

When you are trying to conceive, waiting to take a pregnancy test can feel like forever.  However, since pregnancy tests depend on hormone levels, it’s important to time your test properly for the best possible result.

Of course you can test at any time, but that doesn’t mean you should. A 9 DPO test is still likely to get a negative result, even if you are pregnant.  It’s simply too early for the necessary hormones to register on a home pregnancy test.

What does it mean to get BFP at 9 DPO?

It is possible to get a 9 DPO BFP if implantation has taken place and enough hCG is being produced to register on the test.  But a BFP at 9 DPO could also indicate an ectopic pregnancy if one of the two lines is pale.   Ectopic pregnancies are extremely rare and are usually accompanied by other symptoms such as pain in the pelvic area.  If you are experiencing early signs of pregnancy before the two-week wait is over, you may want to take a pregnancy test.

Can you get BFN at 9 DPO and still be pregnant?

A 9 DPO BFN doesn’t mean you are pregnant or not, it simply means it is too early to tell.  Hormone levels may not have risen enough yet to be detectable by home tests, meaning even if you are pregnant, you can still get a BFN at 9 DPO.  If you get a BFN, it’s best to wait at least 3 days before you test again.
