Unlocking Flying: Explorer

From the eerie beauty of Suramar, to the verdant lands of Val’sharah, and the rocky heights of Stormheimthe Broken Isles are a rich landscape filled with mystery. And demons. (We’re dealing with that.) As you journey through the land and repel the Burning Legion, you may have missed a couple of noteworthy spots.

From precarious pathways to isolated islands, we’ll tell you how to get to some of the hardest-to-find places in Legion and unlock the Broken Isles Explorer achievement—bringing you one step closer to earning Broken Isles Pathfinder, Part One. Good luck, explorer!

If you use an addon or macros, check below for the coordinates—along with the names—of places you need to discover.

 

Highmountain: Ironhorn Enclave

 

Why is it tricky? The route takes you up mountain pathways that lead to the summit. The path isn’t always clear and, in some places, gets very steep. Make sure you have a sturdy mount and a warm coat. (Spoiler: snow.)

 

Start at Thunder Totem, take the path north, and keep going up the hill. At the top of the hill take a sharp right, avoiding the mobs ahead of you, and keep to the right of the river. On your left you’ll see a wooden bridge you'll use to cross the river. Once across, keep to the right and follow the path up the hill.  The path takes you under strings of flags and twists left and right through the snow. It’s very steep and narrow in certain spots. Up, up, up you go until you reach a building and a distinctly unsafe-looking wooden bridge across a gaping chasm. Bravely—and carefully—cross the bridge. Once across, head slightly down the hill to your left. You’ll eventually reach a sharp right that takes you down a rocky path leading straight into a small dwelling. Make a left across the water and take the path upwards on the other side and there, as you arrive—out of breath and cold—is your flight path. Click that green exclamation point enjoy that nice, easy flight back down. Congratulations! You have discovered Ironhorn Enclave. *shiver*

 

Highmountain: Trueshot Lodge

 

Why is it tricky? It’s the Class Order Hall for Hunters, so if you’re not a Hunter you will be teleported out just a few seconds after discovering the area. Hunters like their privacy, apparently.

 

The easiest way to find it is from the Nesingwary flight path. Turn left up the hill and keep going up and left past the Pinerock Stalkers and Soothoof Hillstriders. You’ll see a cave entrance ahead of you, head to the right of that and keep climbing. You’ll spot a river on your left. Cross the river and join the path that heads up the hill and into Trueshot Lodge. Non-Hunters will be teleported back to the Nesingwary flight path, but congratulations! You have discovered where Hunters go to be alone... together.

 

Stormheim: Watchman’s Rock

 

Why is it tricky? It’s an island, so you’re going to have to swim. It’s also surrounded by high mountains. No biggie.

 

Start at the Stormtorn Foothills flight path and head east to the top of the cliffs, heading through Storm’s Reach and bearing left once you’re through. As you head to the very eastern point of the cliffs you will see a steep, narrow path that leads down to the shore. You should see a school of young sharks (non-aggressive and not hungry, thankfully). Either swim or call up your water mount to head out to the right side of the island and you’ll discover Watchman’s Rock. Congratulations! You have discovered a small island. Did you bring a flag?

 

Stormheim: Shield’s Rest

Why is it tricky? Not everyone likes to swim (see above).

 

Swim out from Watchman’s Rock to the east coast of Shield’s Rest. The flight path is right on the shore. If you want to explore the island while you’re there, you can use your grappling hook to get around the elite mobs. Shield's Rest is not for the fiaint of heart or the untested—a World Boss is known to hang out here, too. Congratulations! You’ve discovered how to fly to somewhere really, really dangerous!

 

Val’sharah: Mistvale

 

Why is it tricky? It’s tucked away up narrow paths in the northwestern section of Val’sharah.

 

Starting from Starsong Refuge, take the path to the right heading north-west. Just before the arch take a right up the hill. You’ll pass through Ashamane’s Gate. Keep going straight and you’ll be in Mistvale. Congratulations! You’ve discovered a place that really isn’t all that hard to find. But only when you know how.

Here "s a list of Tomtom waypoints for the exploration achievement as I found them using only a ground mount.

They're spaced out so you can copy one section and use the regular WoW macro creator or copy them all and use the add-on Paste.

These are set in no particular order, you can adjust Tomtom to automatically set the next closest waypoint to minimize backtracking.

Plus 1 for both lists. As you are climbing from Summitcrest for Ironhorn Enclave, go thru the cave on your LEFT as you get to the first open area. You can mount up BEFORE leaving the cave. Head left out of the cave - you "ll get the achievement quickly.

In order to explore Trueshot Lodge, go to the fly point Nesingwary, walk north and around this point 37.9 46.5 turn left. If you are not a hunter it will teleport you back to Nesingwary.

The Broken Isles has a lot to admire: the dark beauty of Suramar, the flourishing lands of Val 'balls, the rocky highlands of Stormheim - a rich landscape filled with secrets ... and demons (we'll try to figure them out). Traveling through the Broken Isles and repelling the attacks of the Burning Legion, you May have missed a couple of important spots: From dangerous mountain trails to remote, remote islets, we'll help you find some of the hardest-to-reach spots in Legion.

For those who use modifications or macros, we have given in the article a list and coordinates of all the places that need to be found.

Highmountain: The Iron Horn Enclave

Why is it difficult to get here? You will need to walk along a narrow path that leads to the very top of the mountain. It is quite easy to go astray, and the climbs are very steep. Make sure you have a secure vehicle and warm clothing. (Hint: there is a lot of snow.)

Start at Thunder Totem, head north and climb the hill. At its top, turn sharply to the right, thereby avoiding a fight with monsters, and move along the right bank of the river. There will be a wooden bridge over the river to the left. Cross it, take to the right and go uphill along the path. You will pass under the flags, and the snow-covered road itself will meander left and right. In some areas, the passages will be very narrow and the inclines will be steep. But it is still necessary to continue the path upward until you come to the observation point next to the abyss. A wooden bridge will appear before your eyes, which clearly needs to be repaired. Take courage and walk carefully over it. Once on the other side, take a little to the left and start descending. After a while, you will need to turn sharply to the right and follow the rocky road to a small village. Turn left and after climbing over the source, go up the path. Probably, now you are pretty tired and cold, but the air path is open! Click on the green exclamation point and rejoice that you have the opportunity to comfortably descend from the summit by air. Congratulations! You have found the Iron Horn Enclave!

Highmountain: Shooter's Refuge

Why is it not easy to get here? This is the mainstay of the hunter class, and if your character belongs to another class, then you will be teleported out of here just a few seconds after you open this area. Apparently, hunters don't like guests very much.

To find the Shooter's Refuge, take the Nesingwary Air Trail. Turn right, climb the hill, and continue up and left past the Pine Rock Hollow Catchers and the Black Hoof Hills. Before you will be the entrance to the cave. Turn right and continue climbing. On the left you will see a river. Cross it and exit onto the road that leads up the hill to the Shooter's Refuge. Characters who are not hunters will be automatically teleported to the Nesingwary Air Trail. And yet the result was worth it! You have found a place where hunters gather ... to be alone.

Stormheim: Rock of the Watcher


Why is it not easy to get here? This is an island, so you have to swim. You will also have to overcome high cliffs. Nothing special.

Begin your journey from the aerial trail to Storm Foothills, heading east towards the cliffs. Cross the Storm's End and then turn left. On the way to the easternmost point of the cliffs, you will see a narrow, steep path that leads to the shore. A group of young sharks will swim in the water, however, fortunately, they are well-fed and not aggressive. You can swim by yourself or summon a water vehicle. Swim to the island on the right and you will reach the Watcher's Rock. Congratulations! You have found a small island. Have you forgotten the flag?

Stormheim: Shattered Shield Isle

Why is it not easy to get here? Not everyone likes to swim (see above).

Pull away from Watcher Rock and head for the eastern shore of Shattered Shield Island. The point of the aerial trail is right on the shore. If you want to explore the island, you can avoid encountering groups of elite monsters by using hooks. Always be on the lookout: this is a dangerous place for those who lack courage (or good equipment). There is even a local boss spawning here. Congratulations! Now you know how to fly to another very dangerous place!

Val "ball: Valley of the Mists

Why is it not easy to get here? The Valley of Mists, located in the northeast of Val 'balls, can be reached via narrow paths.

Start at Starsong Refuge and follow the road northwest. Without going under the arch, turn right and start climbing the hill. Next you will pass the Ashmane Gate. Go straight and you will find yourself in the Valley of the Mists. Congratulations! You have discovered an area that is not difficult to find ... if you know the area well.

Learning to Fly in the Broken Isles

In this section of the guide to the class halls that appeared in Legion, you will learn how each character can get into the stronghold of their class, as well as in what locations they are located.

How to get to the class hall

When you first visit Dalaran after launch Legion, a representative of your class will find you. The assignment of this representative will result in a whole chain, after completing which you will receive an artifact of your specialization. After receiving the artifact and completing the entire quest chain, you will be taken to the stronghold of your class.

How to return to your class hall

    Death Knight: The gate of death.

    Demon Hunter: head to Krasus' Landing in Dalaran and glide from the platform to the floating island. On it you will find a teleport.

    Druid: teleport to your class hall with the Dreamwalker.

    Hunter: Head to Krasus' Landing in Dalaran and speak with Talua. She will give you an eagle that will transport you to the hunter class stronghold.

    Mage: teleport to your class hall with Teleport: Hall of the Guardian.

    Monk: teleport to your class stronghold using Spiritual Journey.

    Paladin: The portal to the class hall can be found in Dalaran in Sunreaver's Sanctuary (Horde) or the Silver Enclave (Alliance).

    Priest: The portal to a class hall is located in your faction's zone in Dalaran: Sunreaver's Sanctuary (Horde) or The Silver Enclave (Alliance).

    Rogue: go to the shop to the right of the fountain in Dalaran. In the left wall of the store there will be a secret corridor directly to the class stronghold of robbers.

    Shaman: head to Krasus' Landing in Dalaran. On the platform to the right, you will see a teleport to the shaman class stronghold.

    Witch: head to the Dalaran drains and on your left you will see a portal as soon as you go down the stairs.

    Warrior: head to Krasus' Landing in Dalaran and stand in the pillar of light near Val'kyra. Click on the additional button that appears and you will be taken to the stronghold of the warriors.

Where are the class halls

Each stronghold is located in a place significant and historical for a particular class within the framework of the history of the world. Here is a list of the locations of all class halls:

    Death Knight: Acherus, the Ebon Hold that is in Legion moved to the Broken Isles.

    Demon Hunter: The Fel Hammer in Mardrum.

    Druid: The Grove of Dreams, Wal'sharah.

    Hunter: Strelka Shelter, Highmountain.

    Mage: Bulwark of the Guardian, located in Dalaran.

    Monk: The Temple of the Five Dawns, which is located on the Wandering Isle.

    Paladin: Abode of Light in Eastern Plaguelands.

    Priest: The Netherlight Temple, which appears to be located in the city of Karabor in Shadowmoon Valley.

    Rogue: The Shadow Chamber in the Sewer near Dalaran.

    Shaman: The Heart of Azeroth above the Maelstrom.

    Witch: A Dreadscar Rift in one of the Legion worlds.

    Warrior: Heavenly Citadel in Stormheim.

You may have noticed that there is some confusion in the Alliance and Horde forces right now - a mess in the ranks of the leadership. In World of Warcraft: Legion, you'll have to take charge and find a way to rally your people against the demons that threaten all life on Azeroth. To save the world from destruction, you will travel to the Broken Isles. Here you have to unite with other representatives of your class (regardless of their faction) and oppose the Burning Legion.

Each class needs a home: a hideout where heroes can find support, and a military meeting room where battle plans can be drawn up. In Legion, this home will be your stronghold, a class-specific stronghold where the heroes of the world of Warcraft will join you to fight back against the invading armies of the Burning Legion on the Broken Isles.

Death Knights: Acherus

Acherus, also known as the Black Keep, was once the necropolis of the Scourge. Now every death knight will find in him what he needs: a forge, a rune forge and a Crucible of Souls.

Demon Hunters: Fel Hammer

Demon hunters will immediately recognize the Fel Hammer ship, because they have already visited it during the introductory part of the game in Mardum.

Notable Demon Hunters: Allari the Soul Eater, Altruis the Sufferer, Kayn Sunfury

Druids: The Grove of Dreams

Opposite Black Rook Hold is a dense forest with the Grove of Dreams. Here, the Emerald Dreamway opens up for druids, with the help of which they are able to move between the various areas of interest to them.

Where is: Val'sharah
How to get there: after opening a class hall, use the Dreamwalker ability to teleport to the Dreamgrove
Notable Druids: Keeper Remulos, Lunara, Malfurion Stormrage

Hunters: Arrow's Haven

From the Strelka Shelter, a network of aerial trails opens, which can only be used by hunters. Here you will join the wanderers, trackers and dark trackers, so that together you can go through extremely difficult trials. Only hunters who have gone through survival school and have a deep knowledge of wildlife can count on success.

Where is: Highmountain
How to get there: after opening the class hall, summon the eagle, which will take you to the Shooter's Refuge
Notable hunters: Hemet Nesingwary, Vereesa Windrunner, Rexxar

Mages: Hall of the Guardian

Bulwark of the Guardian is a tower where mages of all stripes have come together to revive the Guardians of Tirisfal at a difficult hour for Azeroth.

Notable inhabitants: Edria, High Sorcerer Andromath, Meryl Felstorm, Marud

Monks: Hall of the Seasons

The Hall of the Seasons, home to the Temple of Five Dawns and Mandori Village, is home to monks of all races.

Where is: Wandering island
How to get there: with the help of "Spiritual Journey"
Notable monks: Chen Wildporter, Ji Firepaw, Li Li Wildporter, Aisa Chanting Clouds

Paladins: Hall of Light

The Abode of Light is the place where the Order of the Knights of the Silver Hand was revived, uniting the servants of the sun, the Hand of Argus, the knights of the blood and many others.

Where is: Under Light's Hope Chapel in Eastern Plaguelands
How to get there: flight to the Chapel of Light's Hope or using the special ability of the paladins, which allows you to teleport to the Abode of Light
Notable Paladins: Edric the Pure, Lord Maxwell Tyrosus, Lord Grayson by Tenelom

Priests: Netherlight Temple

How to get into class stronghold

When you first visit Dalaran after launch Legion.You will find a representative of your class. Plus 1 for both lists. As you are climbing from Summitcrest for Ironhorn Enclave, go thru the cave on your LEFT as you get to the first open area. You can mount up BEFORE leaving the cave. Head left out of the cave - you "ll get the achievement quickly.
