That’s it! Let us know how this brief tutorial works for you. Thanks to the Firecore team for the update and to pod2g for the untether.

Before you can install Kodi on your second generation Apple TV, it will have to be jailbroken. This process is fairly straight forward and hasn’t changed in years now. Once you’ve jailbroken your Apple TV 2, you’ll be able to install apps like Kodi and nitoTV. Unfortunately, not much exists in terms of apps for the jailbroken Apple TV 2, so you’ll likely be sticking to Kodi. The Apple TV 2 is much simpler to jailbreak than other Apple devices.
Seas0nPass is jailbreak tool created specifically for jailbreaking the Apple TV 2 device. It was created by nitoTV for the Firecore company and is available free of charge. Unlike other Apple devices, there has only ever been the one jailbreak tool, Seas0nPass, for jailbreaking the Apple TV 2 device. The process is pretty straight forward, so once you have Seas0nPass you should have your Apple TV 2 jailbroken in no time.

Sours: https://www.tvaddons.co/jailbreak-appletv2-seas0npass/Seas0nPass Jailbreak Tool: Everything You Need To Know [How To Download And Use]
Seas0nPass is the go-to Jailbreaking tool for the Apple TV. If you are planning on Jailbreaking your Apple TV then it is recommended that you use Seas0nPass, even though other Jailbreaking tools like Absinthe do indeed support the Apple TV.
The only difference between Seas0nPass and other Jailbreaking tools is that Seas0nPass creates a pre-Jailbreak iOS firmware (IPSW) that must be restored to your Apple TV. Although this means you are restoring your Apple TV to factory settings, as very little information is stored on the Apple TV, this is not as bad as having to restore the iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.
SeasonPass was created and is maintained by the FireCore Dev-Team. These are the same developers behind the most popular Jailbroken extension for the Apple TV – aTV Flash (black) and also MiRow for Mac OS X. You will also be glad to know that Seas0nPass is also cross-compatible with both Mac OS X and Windows. In the past some Jailbreaking tools have been operating system specific, and this really limited the userbase of that said tool. Seas0nPass is always available for both Mac OS X and Windows at the same time, so no usergroup is left in the dark.
Seas0nPass Firmware Compatibility
Seas0nPass is compatible with almost all firmware versions of the Apple TV 2G. Unfortunately at this time the 1080p Apple TV 3G and new Apple TV 4G is not supported, but it is being worked on by FireCore at this very moment. You can take a look at the firmware versions Seas0nPass currently supports below. Keep in mind that we will update the Seas0nPass compatibility chart when new versions of Seas0nPass are released to ensure it is always up to date.

How To Download Seas0nPass
Seas0nPass is maintained and developed by a group of developers by the name of FireCore. As such you can always find the latest version of Seas0nPass from their website. iJailbreak also maintains a downloads section that always contains the latest version of SeasonPass. You can visit the iJailbreak Downloads Section and download the version of Seas0nPass that is bold. This signifies that it is the latest version.
The Basics Of Seas0nPass
SeasonPass is a Jailbreaking tool that forces your Apple TV to be restored to a pre-Jailbroken IPSW that it creates. As such you Apple TV will return to factory settings once the Jailbreaking process finishes. As mentioned previously, because content is not stored on your Apple TV, this is not as big of a deal as restoring an iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad would be.
The difference between a Tethered and Untethered Jailbreak
There are two types of Jailbreaks available when you go to Jailbreak Apple TV – a Tethered Jailbreak or an Untethered Jailbreak. An Untethered Jailbreak means that your Apple TV will function as normal once Jailbroken. A Tethered Jailbreak on the other hand is different. It means that when you Jailbreak you cannot power your Apple TV off. When you do this while your Jailbreak is Tethered it means in order for your Apple TV to turn back on you will need to plug it into the computer and re-run Seas0nPass over again. Once you do this your Apple TV functions as normal… no data is lost. Hence the term tethered, because you are Tethered to your computer.
Now why would a Jailbreak be Tethered? Well the only reason a Jailbreak would be Tethered is if the developers behind the Jailbreak for a specific firmware version are having a hard time Jailbreaking it. If this is the case often times they will release a Tethered Jailbreak and then an Untethered Jailbreak later on once they find a suitable exploit.
How to launch Seas0nPass correctly
Seas0nPass needs the proper permissions to run on both Windows and Mac OS X correctly. If you are running Seas0nPass on Windows you will need to ensure you grant it administrative privileges by right clicking it and selecting the run as administrator option. On Mac OS X Mountain Lion, because of the new Gatekeeper software, there is also a trick to running Seas0nPass. You will need to first hold down the control button and then select the open option.
How To Jailbreak With Seas0nPass
Now that you understand the basics of Seas0nPass you can actually use Seas0nPass to Jailbreak your Apple TV. iJailbreak has written numerous guides for Jailbreaking your Apple TV with Seas0nPass that can be accessed from the How To Jailbreak Section. These guides include screenshots, and are specific to each firmware version Seas0nPass supports. As the Jailbreaking process with Seas0nPass is essentially the same for all firmware versions however, you can follow the generalized guide below as well.
- The first thing you will need to do is download Seas0nPass. As mentioned previously this can be done from the iJailbreak Downloads Section.
- Launch Seas0nPass; keeping in mind the points discussed previously on how to launch Seas0nPass correctly on both Mac OS X and Windows.
- Once you have launched Seas0nPass click the Create IPSW button and the latest Apple TV software will be downloaded and used to create a pre-Jailbroken IPSW.
- When you are asked to plug your Apple TV into you computer via the micro-USB cable, do this now and then follow the on-screen instructions for putting your Apple TV into DFU mode. When you successfully enter DFU mode on your Apple TV iTunes will automatically begin the restoration process. When iTunes finishes restoring your Apple TV then your Apple TV has been Jailbroken (to confirm this you should see a temporary FC logo in place of the Settings icon).
- If your Apple TV was Jailbroken tethered then you will need to disconnect your Apple TV from your computer, launch Seas0nPass again and click the Boot Tethered button. Then simply follow the rest of the 0n-screen instructions.
Seas0nPass is the best tool for Jailbreaking the Apple TV and hopefully this in-depth analysis has gotten you more comfortable with using Seas0nPass. Once your Apple TV is Jailbroken you will want to install aTV Flash (black), which can be purchased from the FireCore website.

How to jailbreak Apple TV 2 5.2.1 (iOS 6.1.3) using Seas0nPass (tethered; Mac & Windows)
Following the release of Apple TV software update 5.2.1 (iOS 6.1.3 – 10B329a), FireCore has updated Seas0nPass to provide a tethered jailbreak for Apple TV 2 running the latest firmware. Released in March, a minor Apple TV software update – 5.2.1 – added support for Music in the Cloud in Japan and Israel and included improvements for software update, subtitles, and general performance.
Here is a step by step tutorial on how to tether jailbreak Apple TV 2 5.2.1 using Seas0nPass:
NOTE: This is a TETHERED jailbreak. This means every time there is a need to reboot your Apple TV, you have to connect it to a computer. Functionally, both tethered and untethered jailbreak are identical.
NOTE 2: The current version of Seas0nPass doesn’t provide a jailbreak for the Apple TV 3.
Pre-launch checklist
- Download and install the latest version of iTunes (check for updates through Software Update located in Apple menu).
- Download Seas0nPass for Mac [10.6 or later] or Windows [XP or later].
- A micro USB cable will be required to complete the jailbreak.
- Disconnect any iPods, iPhones, and iPads from your computer.
Jailbreaking
Step 1: Unzip the ‘Seas0nPass.zip’ file and launch Seas0nPass.
Step 2: Select the ‘Create IPSW’ button to start the jailbreak process.
Step 3: The latest Apple TV software will be downloaded and used to create a custom ‘jailbroken’ software file.
Step 4: When prompted, connect your Apple TV using a micro-USB cable (leave power disconnected).
Once the light on the front of the Apple TV begins to flash rapidly, point the remote at the AppleTV and hold both the MENU and PLAY/PAUSE buttons for 7 seven seconds.
Note: This step will require the silver (aluminum) Apple TV remote that was included with the ATV2. The older, white (plastic) remotes will not work.
Step 5: iTunes will open automatically and start the restore process.

Overview
Seasons were introduced in the 2018 Winter Update, removed temporarily in the Nukes Update, and brought back in the Winter 2020 Update. Seasons offer limited-time rewards such as vehicles and customizations that often become unobtainable after the season ended, or they can give out certain bonuses, such as C4, Cash, or Rocket Fuel. There have been 10 seasons in total, and the 6th is currently ongoing.
Season 6: Race to the Top! began on October 1st, 2021, and ends at 11:59 PM EST/3:59 AM UTC on November 28th, 2021.

XP Table
This table shows how much XP is required to reach a certain level. It is always updated to the current season, or, in the case when no season is ongoing, the latest season. The "Day" column shows how long it would take to get to that level from the previous level while the "Total Days" column shows how long it would take to get to that level from level 1. This assumes that the player does their full set of contracts everyday. This is not 100% accurate, but should be the case for most players.

Season 6: Race to The Top (ongoing)
Season 6: Race to the Top is the 6th and current season of Jailbreak. It is the first season to feature bonus rewards consisting on three different rewards that were exclusive, two car skins and a furniture item.
Levels are now uncapped meaning players can grind to a unlimited number of levels similar to the old system.
Players can track their progress by looking on the global leaderboards located at the Hypezone or City.
Many contracts were removed and new ones were made. This resulted in people having an easier time doing contracts as all police and criminal contracts are replaced by arresting and robbing based contracts.
The grand prize for this season is The Beignet.

Season 1: New Beginnings |
Season 1: New Beginnings is notable for being the first season of the revamped system. Players now have to complete contracts (similar to the now-removed missions) to earn XP instead of robbing sites or arresting players. There were a total of only 8 different contracts (4 on each team) during this season, but more were added in the subsequent seasons. The grand prize for this season was the Beam Hybrid, which is a hybrid supercar/sports based off the BMW i8. Two miscellaneous updates (92, 93) came out soon after the season was introduced, which led to easier contracts (subsequently less XP) and a different contract timer mechanism which almost restricted players to strictly getting one set of contracts per day. On the last week of the season, all contract XP was doubled in Miscellaneous Update 95. This temporary event lasted until the end of the season. Season 1: New Beginnings started on December 20th, 2020, and ended on January 31st, 2021. |
Season 2: Out of This World |
Season 2: Out of This World was the second season in Jailbreak that used the contracts system. It was released on February 6, 2021. Similar to Season 1: New Beginnings, players level up with contracts. The contracts and the season itself received a few improvements based on the community feedback, as well as 7 new contracts; progression has been made slightly easier. All cosmetic prizes for Season 2 as well as the grand prize are themed after outer space. Similar to the previous season, there are 10 levels. The grand prize for this season was the Crew Capsule, which is a small space capsule that seats 3 and has a low height limit. It can be spawned in the Garage. With contracts that reward more XP, the average XP a user without the season pass can get is increased by 4.2% from Season 1. Similar to the previous season, all XP from contracts was doubled in Miscellaneous Update 98, but unlike the last season, this only lasted for 3 days, compared to Season 1: New Beginnings' 7. Season 2: Out of This World started on February 6, 2021, and ended on March 21, 2021. |
Season 3: Looking Back |
Season 3: Looking Back was the third season for Jailbreak that used the contracts system. It was released on April 3, 2021. For the first time, the level 2 reward is now a Rocket Fuel refill instead of ten C4s, and furniture items are part of the rewards. Also for the first time ever, two vehicles are awarded in one season. In this case, the level 6 prize is the retired Mighty. There were no new contracts added, unlike last season. The grand prize is the Volt 4X4, a 4x4 version of the Volt Bike which seats two. On May 20, like in previous seasons, a double XP event was added so that players who have not yet obtained the Volt 4X4 have a better chance of obtaining it. The event will last 4 days. Also, asimo3089 announced in a tweet that Season 3: Looking Back would be extended until May 24. In a later update, the season was extended again for another 56 minutes. After the season ended, the prizes could still be obtained, but only with Robux, for the first time in a season. This was available until May 30. Season 3: Looking Back started on April 3, 2021, and ended on May 25, 2021. |
Season 4: Epic Adventures |
Season 4: Epic Adventures was released on June 4th, 2021 along with the Great Tomb robbery. It is the first season to feature all user-created creations. Its title and theme is likely inspired by the new robbery. Many Contracts were given higher XP rewards and nerfed in difficulty. This resulted in an estimated 11.3% increase in gaining XP compared to Season 3. The XP table for Season 4 can be found directly above. The grand prize for this season is The Rattler. For the first time, level 2 does not reward a consumable and level 7 does not reward a cash prize. The Season Pass is |
Season 5: Let the Memes Begin |
Season 5: Let the Memes Begin was the 5th Jailbreak season, first announced by asimo3089 on a tweet on July 6th, 2021. As the name suggests, the vast majority of awards are inspired by popular internet memes, and like Season 4, the prizes are user-created. It was released on August 7th, 2021 alongside multiple balancing changes and a smoother XP progression. |
Double XP Event
A Double XP Event is an event that doubles the amount of XP on every contract. This event is for players who have not reached level 10. The event usually occurs when a season is about to end.
Old System
Seasons from during Seasons 1-4 and prior to the Season revamp contained 2 types of levels: Criminal/Prisoner level and Police level. Each type can only gain XP if the player is on the respective team (players can only obtain Criminal/Prisoner XP as a Criminal/Prisoner, and Police XP only as a Police officer). After entering the season, players will start at level 1 on each team. The XP required to reach the next level starts off at 1,000 XP and increases until it reaches 1,500 XP.

In VIP servers, the amount of XP a player gains is halved to prevent abuse and farming XP easily.
If a player bought the XP Boost Gamepass before its removal, they permanently had a +50% (x1.5) XP boost effect. This XP boost was discontinued in Season 1: New Beginnings, but players who bought the Gamepass got its 399-worth Season Pass for free.
In Season 1: New Beginnings, the XP Boost Gamepass was replaced with the Season Pass. This pass costed 399 and could've been purchased from the Season GUI in-game. It had the same effect as the original Gamepass, offering an additional +50% XP gain. However, if players that owned the XP Boost Gamepass purchase this, they can stack the effects and receive a +100% boost, doubling XP gain. This pass is not permanent.
Buying Levels
Players used to be able to level up with in-game cash. It was not recommended to buy all the levels, as the price and the level exponentially increased in a linear fashion. It was recommended to buy the first 10 or so levels. As of Season 1: New Beginnings, players can no longer buy levels with cash.

All levels in season 1 were priced at $250,000.

The theme for this season was named “Season 1: New Beginnings”, most likely to emphasise the new season system. It lasted for about 45 days. Players cannot simply purchase levels, as Contracts were introduced, and there are only 10 levels that apply to both Criminals and Police. Despite there are 10 levels, it's harder to level up compared to Seasons 1-4 due to Contracts giving less XP and requires more XP for greater levels. It also is one of the seasons to give rewards immediately without extra payment of cash. Anyone who owned the extra XP gamepass got the Season Pass for free. Players who own the Season Pass will unlock 4 more items for levels and will gain an additional contract for each team.
Prizes
The theme for this season was named “Season 2: Out of This World!”, most likely to emphasise the space-themed rewards. It lasted for about 45 days, and similar to Season 1: New Beginnings, players need to complete Contracts
